The major decision: deciding where to go!
It has been so long since I’ve traveled anywhere other than back to my home state that I have no clue where I even want to go this summer. I know where I want to go, but international travel is currently out of the question.
Questions to ask yourself
- What climate do you prefer for vacation adventures?
- What type of scenery would you like to see?
- Where have you already been?
- What destinations are the farthest away from home and anywhere you’ve already been?
Narrowing it down for myself
I don’t want to swelter on vacation and would like to see the ocean. I’ve already seen the gulf coast from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. I’ve seen the west coast from Florida. I think the northwest coast or central east to northeast coast are top contenders. I live near mountains and national forests and want a major change of scenery.
I want a place where we can enjoy solitude and also experience some fun adventures or activities. I don’t want to come home so exhausted that I need a vacation to recover from vacation.
I’m leaning towards northern California, Oregon, or Washington. That’s pretty far from home and anywhere I’ve ever been.
