In Our Own Little Worlds

Have you ever been surrounded by people and still felt alone?

People seem to have a blatant disregard for those around them. The crowd blurs and their words become background noise. Does anyone see you? People walk a straight line towards you, and you’re the one who steps to the side so they don’t walk right into you.

You feel invisible … alone in a crowd. This is what life is like in the 21st century. Every man for himself. People oblivious to their surroundings with a seemingly blatant disregard for anyone other than themselves. Self first; others never.

At the store. In a mall. On the road. On social media. It happens everywhere. Everyone in their own little worlds.

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. I’m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
