To Gray or Not to Gray

This is the question of the half century for me.

If my hair were to go completely gray overnight, I would keep it. I have naturally dark hair, and the salt sprinkling in isn’t becoming. I thought I might try to let it grow in a bit this time to see how it looks, but nope! I couldn’t do it. It makes my hair look dull and dirty.

Another reason I thought about letting it go gray is because the last time I did more than a root touch-up, it dried out my hair and left it a static mess. I think I used L’Oréal that time.

This time, I went back to Clairol Age Defy and loved the result. Super soft and shiny and not at all dry.

If my roots ever indicate more salt than pepper, I might let the aging happen naturally. Until then, I will continue to cover the gray with a color as close to my natural dark, warm brown as possible. I’ll never go blonde because I think it would look terrible with my skin tone. I also don’t care for over-done highlights … chunking … streaks. Throwback natural for me!

Do you color your hair?

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. I’m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
