Day Trip: Georgetown & Idaho Springs, CO

What to do on a Monday?

I love my 3-day weekends, especially my Mondays. This is the day to take day trips because the crowds aren’t as big. It is summer, so places are naturally a bit more crowded than normal, but it’s nowhere near as bad as weekends.

Today’s day trip was to Georgetown and Idaho Springs. Both are historic mining towns. On the must visit list for Georgetown are the old fashioned soda fountain in End of the Line gift shop and Georgetown Valley Candy Company. Lunch at Lucha Cantina is also fun!

There are several restaurants in Idaho Springs that are popular and usually have a waiting list. The Buffalo, Beau Jo’s, and Tommy Knocker’s are all good.

I tried the Wahoo Tacos today and wasn’t disappointed. Of course, I couldn’t eat it all and had to bring the rest home. Dinner!
