Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!
That’s what I shout in my head every time I hear or read hateful comments. Such comments come from anger. Why are so many people so full of anger and hate? The more you feed the beast, the larger it becomes. Stop feeding it!
Why waste time on such contention? There’s nothing wrong with feeling anger. It’s a natural emotion. It’s what you do with that anger that’s important.
Rather than pour that anger into being mean and hateful, focus it on a project or into power to bring about change.
Think about what makes you angry. Did somebody do something that made your life miserable in some way? Did someone pop your balloon? (humor) Get angry, but don’t get mean. Stomp it off. Let out a groan. Then do something constructive and get over it. I know people hate to hear “get over it”, but it fits in many cases.
I read a blog post this morning (Give Light…) that made sense to me. The author summed it up with, “The next time you’re feeling angry about how the world can be so dark and daunting, remember that you have the power to make things brighter!”
Why Waste Your Life in Anger? is another good post by a friend and Life Coach, Deborah Jane Wells. (It’s also where I grabbed the image used on this post because it’s perfect!)
May your day be filled with happiness and peace.
