Human identity is no longer defined by what one does but by what one owns. But we’ve discovered that owning things and consuming thingsย does not satisfy our longing for meaning. We’ve learned that piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose. This is not a message of happiness or reassurance, but it is the truth, and it is a warning.

We think we need things because we’ve been told by society that we need things. We need very little.ย Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things can be watched on Amazon or Netflix.

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. Iโ€™m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
