Capricious Cadence

Welcome to the same blog with a brand new name!

Zachner was not a word; it was a mash-up of my maiden and married names. It was small but still not something easy to remember because it’s not catchy. So I set out to find something catchy and meaningful.

Last year, I thought “The Fickle Pickle” sounded good. Then I found many uses of it online and off, including a restaurant by the same name! So that was off the table, and Zachner remained for another year.

So I pulled up the trusty thesaurus to search for synonyms of the word “fickle” and found “capricious”.

[kuhprishuh s, –pree-shuh s]

  1. subject to, led by, or indicative of a sudden, odd notion or unpredictable change; erratic.
  2. Obsolete. fanciful or witty.

Let’s bring back the obsolete definition and mix it with #1 – a little bit witty and subject to unpredictable change.

noun, Also, cadency.

1. rhythmic flow of a sequence of sounds or words
2. (in free verse) a rhythmic pattern that is nonmetrically structured
3. the beat, rate, or measure of any rhythmic movement
4. the flow or rhythm of events, especially the pattern in which something is experienced

The title of my blog is “Words”, and they do flow. Maybe they don’t flow especially rhythmically, but they do flow … sometimes more than some appreciate.

Chandelier. Lighting the way to brighter days and more writing.

Capricious cadence. One day I may ramble on about something voicing one opinion. The next day, I may ramble on about the same thing with a change of heart and a new opinion. It’s not wishy-washy, it’s my prerogative. Everyone’s entitled to change their mind. When I’m passionate about something, though, you’ll know it. My opinion will not waver.
