It’s time to bid adieu to 2013 and start fresh with a brand new year. Yes, it’s just another day – the day after yesterday and the day before tomorrow. Time marches on as it always does. Yet, it’s nice to symbolize a new beginning with the start of a new year. From the top, 2014!

As we pack away Christmas decorations, we can reflect on the past and hope for good things in the new year.

I’m ready to leave it in the past and carry only the memories of the good times into the future. If I wereΒ triskaidekaphobic, I’d blame it on the number 13. πŸ˜€ I know how to take responsibility for my own actions, though. I wholeheartedly believe that I’m suffering the natural consequences of my own mistakes. It’s a long, hard punishment to suffer through, but I’m on the downhill slope now. That tiny glimmer starting to appear in the distance just might be the light at the end of this tunnel.

So I’m saying farewell to 2013 and putting out the welcome mat for 2014!

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. I’m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
