Ali’s New Car

Networking certainly has its benefits. Not only is it almost the only way to find a job anymore, but it also helps when looking for a decent used car. Our next door neighbor is a mechanic, and his brother is a car salesman. Last night, someone traded in a 1995 Nissan Altima, and he knew Ali was looking for a car. So he hid the car in the back lot so we could go look at it this morning. SOLD! Ali bought her first car! We now have three kids with licenses and cars. 🙂

The trunk latch wouldn’t release the trunk, so our neighbor helped Greg futz and fiddle with it until they got it to work! One issue down. The next will be handled in the morning – getting some new keys made. They’re pretty worn, and much jiggling needs to be done. 😡 The previous owner put a Kenwood radio in there, and it doesn’t work. Minor issue. She doesn’t need the distraction anyway! 😀

As soon as we got home, she put seat and steering wheel covers on. I picked up a two-inch foam pad to go under the driver’s seat cover to give just a little extra boost. 😉 It was dark when she put those on, so I’ll add more photos later.

It funny … last night she was upset that she’d miss a Thespian breakfast meeting this morning that she had committed to attending. I don’t think she feels badly about missing that anymore. Hmmm… Thespian meeting vs. possibly getting a car. I think I’d choose the car easy!

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. I’m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
