American Idol – Season 10 – Week 2

Here we go! This is when the contestants need to kick it into high gear and be in it to win it. Some of them brought their A-game, but several fell short. Either their true colors are starting to show, or they’re just running out of their go-to songs that they’re really good at. Of course, there’s the whole nervous thing, too!

One of my favorites, Karen, disappointed last night. I hope she brings it back next week. Another favorite, Casey, did not disappoint! Jacob … WoW! That’s all I have to say about that! Scotty is amazing at what he does best: country. He has that genre cornered this year, I think. I can see him being signed no matter what.

I have to talk about James. He has made a comparison to Adam himself and while I do see a little similarity, I also see differences. Aside from the obvious swinging for different teams, James isn’t glitz & glam. I think he’s more total rocker than Adam. Technically, James is amazing!

I also have to single out Pia. Again, technically amazing with vocals and a bit of a beauty to look at, but a little boring. “All by Myself”? Really?! Indulgent.

I still have hope for Thia, Haley, and Naima. All three have interesting qualities to their voices, and that’s what I like!

I’m not sure what to make of Stefano. He chose a song that was technically difficult this week, so no one can tell him he played it safe. Being that difficult, though, it felt kind of all over the place for me. Since he wasn’t in America’s choice for top ten and is a wildcard, I’m not sure what his chances are in the vote. Younger Americans aren’t going to know that song or what to make of it. Hell, I barely recognized the song!

Ashton? Meh. Not very impressed with her. The comparisons to Diana Ross are annoying me. All I have to say to that is “Alright now go! Walk out the door! Just turn around now ’cause you’re not welcome anymore.”

This week’s stinker is Paul. Taylor Hicks and Elaine Benis combined had better dance moves than this guy! The quirky voice? Interesting the first time; annoying thereafter. I’m done with this one. However… Paul is the pick for Vote for the Worst this week, so we might have to hear more from him.

Darcy Elliott

I don't believe humans truly have a purpose. Our goal is to survive until we expire. Period. Joy is pleasurable and worrying is not. Balance in life is crucial; but if the scales must tip, may they tip on the side of joy. I’m just another human trying to survive. I blog because I can and because I enjoy it, not because it serves any purpose.
