As I was pushing through on the Gazelle this morning with Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance in my ears, all I could think of was wasting time. Standing on that thing moving my legs back and forth feels about as worthless as sitting in a chair staring off into space. I feel like I’m wasting time that I could be working or doing something else productive. I know exercise is productive in the long run, but it’s a struggle for me to change my routine and set aside a certain amount of time for it.
I’m going to have to take it to the streets (sidewalks) soon. Not only will there be scenery, but the incline will change along the way. It’s 1.15 miles around what we call our “big block”, which is perfect.
I found this brief article on treadmill boredom, but that didn’t help much. I still have to cut something else short during my day (or delete it entirely) to make time, or I end up staying up later like I did the past two nights already. Lifestyle change is hard! This one is for the better, though, so I’ll give it a fair trial.
